We have an exciting, vibrant, and active group of senior adults at Sharon Church! The purpose for the JOY Ministry is to provide a wide variety of opportunities for the seniors of our church and community to know Christ and to grow in their relationships with Him and each other. We are also committed to providing occasions for Christian fellowship, Bible studies, ongoing education and encouragement, service to others, and both local and away trips. Our Scriptural theme is found in Nehemiah 8:10b (NIV) where it states. " ...for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
We normally meet on the first Thursday of each month at 11 am in the Warehouse to share a covered dish meal where the church provides the meat, bread, & drinks and each participant is asked to bring two covered dishes to share. We always have a devotional, a program, and a tremendous time of Christian fellowship. Please contact the church office (770-957-5072) or Jeff Ayers, Minister of Pastoral Care (email@example.com) to make sure that we are meeting on that given Thursday. You are always welcome.
If you have a Facebook Page, please feel to ask to join our Sharon Joy Ministry Page for Senior Adults!
We also take day trips throughout the year, usually one each month. Recently we have visited The Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins, Georgia, the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, Gibbs Gardens, toured the Georgia State Capital as guests, visited the Hay House & Cannonball House in Macon, Georgia, among other trips.
We have also had Senior Adult Day where all Seniors were recognized and provided a great BBQ meal. In addition, we have had a Valentine's Banquet, a Christmas Banquet, Grandparents' Day Brunch, a Fish Fry, etc.
Our Minister of Pastoral Care is committed to ministering to the spiritual needs of the senior adult members of our church and community. He is also committed to visiting our shut-ins on a regular basis in order to encourage them along the way.
Please let us know if we might be able to serve you. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our JOY Ministry.
